The year 2005

It’s already the third day of year 2006… and almost a good time to reflect, what happened to me and what I made happen during the last year. I guess, my small overview would be a bit more adequate if I wrote it later, when I had thought about the year in more depth. Well, you’ll have to cope with my present inadequate text as I just felt like writing it now :)
I would say, the last year was of of the fastest ones and extremely colorful in my life. I’ve never had so many different experiences to live through and so many different new people to meet. Though, I started my blog with the start of January, here are some highlights:
on Jan 2 I flew to Brussels to stay in Luxembourg for six months
within these six months I went skiing in France, visited many small towns in Lux, couple ones in Belgium and Germany and took part in two seminars in Stockholm and Athens.
On May 28 I quit smoking cigarets.
After these six months and returning home, I took part in the choir trip to Catalonia, got a new job within the ministry, had business-trips to Brussels, Berlin, London, Stockholm.
The end of the year had one big title - rock-musical with a role of a barman.
Then there were choir concerts with many rehearsals, lectures at the university and French classes…
But that’s not all - during the Christmas it was the fist time for me to be a Santa-Claus <:-)
Well, I didn’t have much free time and I didn’t manage to find an old duchess whom I could marry, become rich and simultaneously get also a title. I didn’t grow taller, but had a beard. I might have got wiser, but I definitely did things that I really liked more than ever. I have never spent so little time with my family and walked so many unknown streets. I have never before seen so many German people and I’ve never spoken better French. I have never before eaten "filet americaine" and drunk so much Belgian beer. I have never before taken a shot of vodka for each Eurovision song. I have never before been offered drugs on the street. I have never had a personal trainer and a flat with a fireplace. I have never before sent so many real Christmas cards (3) and bought tobacco for a pipe. I have never wished more to be someone else and at the same time been content with myself. I have never before bought so many clothes and Christmas presents. I have never before made a short film and faking fainting on the stage.
Well, it will be quite tough to exceed the year 2005, but hopefully, with the help of all you, my friends, I will manage with it in 2006.
